It’s been a busy few months for Business in Focus, so we’d like to share with you all the great things that have been happening here!

AGM 2018

Last month we held our AGM at the stunning Vale Resort Hotel. We were joined by our guest speaker, Louise O’Shea, Chief Executive Officer of Confused.com who delivered a fantastic speech about technology and disruption in the industry.

Our CEO, Katy Chamberlain, also gave an inspiring overview about the successful year that Business in Focus has had! Thank you to all those who joined us for breakfast and made it a successful event! Louise had some great messages for us all.

CROWNFORD HOUSE – MERTHYR TYDFIL
After the official opening of Crownford House in Merthyr Tydfil, we are proud to announce that lettings are going extremely well, with the number of new tenants rising to seven!

Thanks to all who came and made our guests feel really welcome, especially the Mayor and Geraint Evans our Chair seen below with Katy.

BOOTCAMP TO BUSINESS

Another year, another extremely successful Bootcamp to Business!

Bootcamp to Business is an annual three day residential boot camp aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs with all the necessary skills to help them start their own business.

This year’s Big Ideas Wales Bootcamp was held at the Rock UK Summit Centre in Treharris and ran from Friday 16th – Sunday 18th November. Bootcampers were introduced to a variety of fantastic speakers, role models and ex- bootcampers who covered a range of topics, all helping them turn their business ideas and dreams into a solid business plan.

ENTERPRISE HUBS 
Business in Focus is delighted to be delivering two new Enterprise Hubs to promote entrepreneurship across Wales.

The Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport, Ken Skates has announced the locations of four Enterprise Hubs across Wales as part of the Welsh Government’s drive to support business entrepreneurs across Wales. We are delighted to be contracted to deliver the Hubs in Carmarthen and Newtown.

We are looking forward to engaging with the North and South East Hubs to contribute to the visible and connected entrepreneurial ecosystem in Wales.

FAST GROWTH 50
The Fast Growth 50 list, which has been published every year since 1999 and is compiled by Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, celebrates the fastest growing businesses in Wales.

Of this year’s Fast Growth 50, 38 companies were supported by the Welsh Government’s Business Wales service, proudly delivered by Business in Focus and our partners.
